7. Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain

In the twilight glow i see her
Blue eyes crying in the rain
When we kissed goodbye and parted
I knew we'd never meet again

Love is like a dying ember
And only memories remain
And through the ages i'll remember
Blue eyes crying in the rain.

Someday when we meet up yonder
We'll stroll hand in hand again
In the land that knows no parting
For blue eyes crying in the rain.

(Did Shell Beau really say little willie?)

9. " My hero's have always been cowboys"
grew up a-dreamin' of bein' a cowboy,
and Lovin' the cowboy ways.
Pursuin' the life of my high-ridin' heroes,
I burned up my childhood days.
I learned of all the rules of the modern-day drifter,
Don't you hold on to nothin' too long.
Just take what you need from the ladies, then leave them,
With the words of a sad country song.
My heroes have always been cowboys.
And they still are, it seems.
Sadly, in search of, but one step in back of,
Themselves and their slow-movin' dreams.

Cowboys are special with their own brand of misery,
From being alone too long.
You could die from the cold in the arms of a nightmare,
Knowin' well that your best days are gone.
Pickin' up hookers instead of my pen,
I let the words of my years fade away.
Old worn-out saddles, and 'old worn-out memories,
With no one and no place to stay.

My heroes have always been cowboys.
And they still are, it seems.
Sadly, in search of, but one step in back of,
Themselves and their slow-movin' dreams.

Sadly, in search of, but one step in back of,
Themselves and their slow-movin' dreams.

10. Do you also like Waylon and the boys?
Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
don't let them pick guitars and drive them old trucks
let them be doctors and lawyers and such

14. But don't you know that nobody feels pain there?
Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas with Waylon and Willie and the boys
This successful life we're livin' got us feuding
like the Hatfields and McCoys
Between Hank Williams pain songs, Newberry's train songs
and blue eyes cryin' in the rain
out in Luckenbach Texas ain't nobody feelin' no pain

17.  I really like Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground & Did I Ever Love You.
Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground

If you had not have fallen
Then I would not have found you
Angel flying too close to the ground
And I patched up your broken wing
And hung around a while
Tried to keep your spirits up
While you were feelin' down
I knew someday that you would fly away
For love's the greatest healer to be found
So leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground

Fly on, fly on past the speed of sound
I'd rather see you up
Than see you down
Leave me if you need to
I will still remember
Angel flying too close to the ground

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Did I Ever Love You
Did I ever ever love you did I ever really care
All the times that I cried for you did I really want you there
Wiser man then I have wondered about love and never knew
Did I ever love you I guess I still do
All the nights that I spent cryin' all those lonely loss of times
Was it my imagination was it only in my mind
Wiser man then I have wondered...
21. I've been a Willie Nelson fan for as long as I can remember.
Which just proves that once again ~ you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl. :)
23. Willie Nelson is cool
I like REAL country!
Willie, Waylon, Hank Sr., Patsy Cline....and of course those carrying the torch today: Hank III, Dwight Yokham, etc...
Country should sound like Country dammit!! Pedal Steel, fiddles, pianas and everything.
There is no place for a synthesizer in country IMHO
