Who else DOESN'T watch American Idol?

Never've seen it, couldn't care less. Mystified by its success, to be honest. Plus it screwed up the ratings for one of our favorite shows (Commander in Chief).

I've caught glimpses of it if I happen to be in the living room. The early shows, where they show the auditions, are horrid. I cannot stand bad singing -- it hurts my ears!

For years I didn't turn on my TV at all except to catch the occasional cooking show, but nowadays I watch Battlestar Galactica and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex religiously. Nothing else on TV really piques my interest, although I will occasionally flip through Food Network or the documentary channels if I'm bored.

Don't get me started on Tymra Gray getting screwed by Kelly Clarkson.
Rubben Studdard and Clay were close, Ill give you that.
But can someone explain to me how the red headded terror John "Red" Stevens lasted as long as he did?
Really it's more of who is more prettier for the camera than the person who has actually talent.

I was sick and I couldn't find the remote. Usually I have Fox on in the early evenings cause they show repeats of Seinfeld & The Simpsons.

But it was bad - really really bad.

I think the early season, audition episodes are painful to watch since they spend so much time just insulting and emotionally hurting people. I find the later shows where talented people showcase their vocal talent much more enjoyable to watch.
