What's a permalink and why do I want it? n/t

1. If you want to link to a specific post in a thread

click permalink to isolate it, then copy and paste the link. :)

2. Sorry I'm still lost. When I clink the permalink link, nothing is selected

so what/where do I copy? What's the difference in selecting the URL and pasting that into a message, for example?

3. Right click on it and choos "Copy Link Location" or "Copy Shortcut"

And there is no difference between that and copying the URL, just makes it easier for some people I guess. Unless you're in View All and want to link just a single post.

4. If you just move the page to the post you want to link to

it doesn't always link properly. If you click permalink, the post moves to the top of the page, the URL changes, and when you copy and paste you get that exact post. Go to another thread and try it here. :)
