Here's a Grammy Controversy: Kelly Clarkson ignoring American Idol

You'd think for someone who probably would have never ever existed in the realm of pop music if it wasn't for American Idol would have at least once thanked either the people from the show, the judges or the millions of people who voted for her over the other contestants.

Seems Kelly is getting a little big for her britches by not remember the people who put her in the position to win those awards in the first place!

1. In her defense

She did an interview right afterwards and said she just forgot and that she also meant to thank her dad.

I know on the IDOL boards the attitude is that her CD had nothing to do with the show and since she's no longer being managed by Simon Fuller, there's no reason for her to mention them. I disagree. Even if you think her CD is the greatest CD of all time and that she is a huge superstar, the truth is she would never have gotten a chance to make it without the boost the show gave her.

2. Actually I'm not a fan of the show

but I would think if a reality TV elevated me in someway that I might not have made just doing it on my own you better bet I would thank them.

I think it involved her not wanting contestants on the show to sing her songs or something.

Apparently, everything is cool now. Supposedly it was a big misunderstanding and she intended to let them use her songs all along.

She wrote or co-wrote at least half the songs on her CD in case you're thinking "Uh, Kelly Clarkson writes songs?"
