Bitching about Pittsburgh radio, again

My two cubemates both keep their radios tuned to WDVE, which means that I’m treated to the same daily smorgasbord of crap. I hear Tom Petty's "You Don't Know How It Feels" at least once each day, along with predictable selections from The Doors, AC-DC, Metallica, and Motley Crue. I haven't liked classic rock (if such it may be called) in ten years or more, but for God's sake could they mix it up a little? They stick to the same half-dozen artists, over and over. They hardly even play any Beatles, Bowie, Yes, Floyd, Rush, or anything else—maybe these latter groups aren't some people's ideals, but it would be nice to inject a little variety now and again.

But the worst part is these pig-ignorant "comedy" bits involving a "satirical" phone call from some fictional corporate figure who is, invariably, of Middle Eastern extraction. Every time, they use the same stupid "Yes, Sahib" caricature voice, and it's driving me out of my fucking skull.

With considerable effort, I can take Donny Iris five times a week. But this sickeningly unfunny slur makes me want to stuff my cubemates' radios up Jim and Randy's collective ass.

Much of Pittsburgh's problem has been, IMO, it's inability to drag it's sorry ass out of the 80's. Now that we've got one "For The Thumb," perhaps the city will attempt to enter the 90's, at least.
