Seahawks Fan Attacked, Hospitalized By Steeler Fan For Wearing Team Jersey
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. -- Police are looking for a man who was wearing a Pittsburgh Steelers shirt when he attacked a Seahawks fan outside a Port Orchard supermarket on Sunday, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Police said J.J. Meland was punched because he was wearing a Seattle Seahawks jersey.

"His team won, (so) he should be happy. Why should he be coming around and beating people up that are going grocery shopping?" asked Beth Randle, Meland's girlfiend.

Meland suffered multiple fractures of his jaw, which will require surgery.

7. I'm telling you, Steeler fans shouldn't be allowed in public now
They learned from KVO that the only way to win in in life is to play dirty. I suggest everyone do there part and help control the Steeler fan population: Have your Steeler fans spayed or neutered from this moment on.

21. isn't that politically incorrect?
It should be "impartiality challenged". Just like the old days. How many times was Roger Staubach called for intentional grounding? He could throw to a wide open spot with nobody within ten yards of the ball. No flag. But just let Tarkenton hit a receiver in the finger-tips and watch the yellow flags fly.

10. Ah, how I love the good Christian family-values of the sports fans.
Yep. Sure is good stuff.

"My team won, I'm going to beat you up!"

"My team lost, I'm going to beat you up!"

"My team won, I'm going to set my city on fire!"

Obviously, not all sports fans are this way, but I'll tell you this: far more of them are this way and are far more dangerous to society and the world than druggies, rock fans, or minorities put together.

17. That's exactly the point
The Steelers won, but Seahawks fans complained about the officiating, and then this insolent Seattleite wore a jersey in public - of course a violent beat down was the only logical response!

:silly:

(However, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bit more to this than a sports tiff.)

15. This is why I don't identify myself as a 'sports fan'
It evokes too many images of psychotic behavior.

Baseball fans aren't exactly meek little lambs, but they pull this kind of crap less than fans of violent sports.

18. That Stealer guy in Port Orchard was a sissy!!!!
He didn't have the "testicular fortitude" to try that shit in Seattle. Otherwise, he'd have Seahawks blue skin for all the damn bruising he'd get in the ass whipping from Seahawk fans!

20. Oh come on. Why would you say that?
No one deserves to be beat up like that, especially because he is a fan of the loosing team.
