What was the first slow dance at your senior prom? |
|
The theme of our prom was "Free Bird". Yes, it's true. The senior prom was my first "real" date. Let's face it, I was a nerd girl. I went with the valedictorian of my class, after our mothers (oh, the humanity,) decided we should go. I had a wonderful time.
The first slow dance was to "Just The Way You Are". To this day, I still smile whenever I hear that song, and I'm still remembering what a nice evening it was.

2. So, SeattleGirl, what'd you wear? ;-) |
|
My aunt was the same size I was, so I had one of her Gunne Sax dresses on loan...

6. A dress my mom made me. |
|
It was floor length, white with tiny flowers on it. My hair was styled like Tony Tenille. My date wore a tux with black pants and a blue jacket.

5. I skipped my senior prom but went to my junior |
|
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 12:42 AM by Allenberg
but being stuck in the 70s Pittsburgh, I want to say it was Open Arms by Journey. I danced the first and last dance with my date, and in between we hung out with friends. She was a dateless good friend, and I was the last minute pinch hitter for her date who stood her up.
This was in spring 98

9. I have absolutely NO recollection whatsoever. |
|
My senior prom I went with a male friend who was gay (I'm straight) and we double-dated with another couple of friends who were also gay, male and female. I do remember this: I had a fresh flower wreath in my hair and I guess I was looking rather bridal, because at the restaurant we all went to for dinner, this elderly couple came up to us and congratulated us on our most recent nuptuals. It was pretty effing funny, considering.....
No, I can't remember the music, but I do remember THAT!

When I was a senior, I was dating a girl who went to another school, and neither of us were much for bourgeoise stuff like proms.
When I was a sophomore, a junior asked me to take her. She apparently didn't consider that I didn't yet have a driver's license.

17. Don't remember. I was in the coatroom because my date had ditched me |
|
my friends were being pricks, and I felt like hanging out with the juniors and bitching about my class. Then I played prom-mom for another friend of mine who's date/boyfriend ditched her for his ex.
Then I got puked on.
On the up side, I'll never have to go again!

Except for "The Groove Line," the year I was a sophomore. I think it may have been the first song I willingly danced to.

I went to an all-white school, and I graduated in '85. This was our class song, for some reason.

The first song I did hear that night was something along the lines of "Yo Ho Homos, We're Naughty Butt Pirates At Sea" at the Second City-suburban location.

I thought you didn't know if YOUR first song was by Barry White or Billy Joel (it's hard to get those two guys confused, ya know?).

They were almost all very fun, but not terribly sappy or memorable.
