James Carville is really funny.
I went to see him speak last night at my school. His speech was hilarious. I don't know that it had much substance, other than encouraging young people to get involved. Also, I'm not sure I agree with him on many points, but nonetheless he was funny. I went with a really conservative aquantience of mine and he really enjoyed it.

Someone asked him to pick a ticket for 2008, he said Hilary/Obama (one of the points I disagree with)

Also, someone asked him if he's ever considered running for a major office. His reply: "It would take them about 3 minutes of research to kill my campaign. Some people have skeletons in the closet, I have sheep."

My favorite quote from the night, when someone asked him about democrats needing a unified voice;

"If you get 5 democrats in a room you get 6 opinions. But that's a good thing. If we didn't want to think we would be republicans!"

Oh, and what made me appreciate it more was that he made the whole speech up on the spot.

:)

1. He's a _very_ sharp guy.
His sarcasm is, to some, a little too mean-spirited to stomach, but I reallyreallyreally like him. Glad you got to see him speak. :thumbsup:

4. yeah, that's what I was thinking too
he talked about his wife last night, he said "I don't know what's worse about her, that she went to Western Illinois (he was speaking at Southern Illinois)or that she's a republican. The audience unanimously shouted "republican". It was funny.

6. yeah he really did a good job with that reply
I don't think people want a party that is so unified that no one has a voice outside of the party line. I guess we'll see in 06/08
