Here Comes the Snow!!!!
Edited on Fri Feb-10-06 09:27 PM by stepnw1f
I love snow... most seem to bitch about it rather than enjoy one of nature purest spectacles. Even my adrenaline gets pumping!

Latest indications are that an axis of 8 to 15 inches of snow
will be possible across Rhode Island and central and eastern
Massachusetts from the Worcester hills to Taunton... Boston north
to the Merrimack valley.

At the height of the storm Sunday morning... it is very possible
that snowfall rates will reach 2 to 3 inches per hour at times along
with a few rumbles of thunder not out of the question. Gusty
northeast winds increasing to 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph
will create areas of blowing and drifting snow with poor visibility
Sunday.

Blizzard conditions are possible in the Boston and Providence
areas during the height of this storm as visibility due to falling
and blowing snow is reduced to 1/4 mile at times.

1. I love snow too!
That's one thing missed, when I moved out to Western Washington State. Stay indoor and watch the mother nature beauty!

2. The fun thing about snow is
in the DC area people panic about snow - but it's not the local people ( you hear all these insulting things about local people here) Those who panic are all the fucking Republicans from California. Before Reagan we never panicked about snow here.

I wish they would go the fuck back where they came from. It was nicer here before then.

Hell, when my Mom was a kid the place where the Pentagon is was an amusement park and they swam in the beach along the Potomac there.

4. Me too
Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

5. I still enjoy it.
I like it better when I get out and play in it. (skiing) I haven't been able to do that lately. I was telling my teenage daughter about uller the god of snow.(ancient viking, i think) She laughed at me for an hour. So much with trying to help her get a snow day. Catch a flake for me.
Ps. I also love to yodel the mckenzie brothers ku ku ku ku ku ku ku ku, in the middle of blizzards.
I am a :freak:

16. THAT'S where the trail name at Jay Peak came from!
I rode Uller's Dream a few times at Jay Peak last weekend. I've wondered what the name meant...I just assumed that it was named for some owner or pro or groomer or some such, as they do at most mountains. COOL!

17. The lore I heard in Breckenridge
was that you burn old wood ski's to bring on a blizzard. Kind of a fun day!

Time for Shrub to go on vacation to the Ranch, and set out the do not disturb sign.
