1. No, but one person I read said that Steele's comments
(re stem cell research is roughly equivalent to Nazi "experimentation") makes him more likely to vote for Steele.

Steele = Lt. Gov. Maryland, running for Senate (GOP)

Two Democrats likely in primary: Cong. Ben "civil unions" Cardin and Kweisi "Marriage for All" Mfume.

Guess who will get my vote in the primary?

(this is close to threadjacking, and I apologize :hi:)

13. You know what I thought of when I read that?
The rule that whoever brings up the comparison to Nazi Germany first ALWAYS loses the political argument.

Also, the Washington Post coverage of Steele's comments pointed out that he made the analogy before a Jewish group and it didn't go over well.

But as to the original topic, no, I haven't caught any swiftboating yet. But it's early days, and God knows it's going to be a rough year, politically and otherwise.

16. It is called Godwin's Law
"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

12. Actually, something different.
My congressman, Jim Kolbe (R), AZ has decided to retire.

Before he announced his descision, Jeff Latas

http://www.jefflatas.com/about.htm

announced his candidacy.

Since Kolbe retired, many pretenders have stepped into the ring.

One of those pretenders is a former TV anchor here in Tucson.

This former TV anchor seems to be the subject of many more 'news' stories.

Not quite swiftboating, but a whole lot of dumbing down.
