14. I remember "visiting" KITT as a youth (quick story)
Edited on Sun Feb-12-06 03:19 PM by Robb
I believe it was Universal Studios. You could stand in line and sit in a KITT mock-up, and talk to some clod presumably radioing in from a few yards away. Who didn't sound much like the KITT on TV to me (I was already noticing such things).

Anyhoo, "KITT" was on a little platform in the middle of a pond thingy, so he could only be approached from one direction, where the line came from. I remember noticing "KITT" had both his front tires jutting out into the pond -- and a nice green pond scum had started to grow on the bottom two inces or so of wheel and tire.

"KITT" told me he was here for the day, visiting, but had been driving with Michael only yesterday. "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE SEAWEED ON YOUR TIRES?!?!" I yelled back.

I seem to recall crying, running back through the line and yelling at other kids and parents that it was a trick, it was a sham, oh the humanity. :D

On edit: Look, the internet found pictures of KITT and seaweedy tires! :D

22. I did the exact same thing!
Well, I was a young kid, so I thought K.I.T.T. was real, but I remember visiting Universal Studios and "talking" to K.I.T.T.

I think I asked it how fast it could go or something. :)

27. Yep.
Actually, now I remember that I asked how high K.I.T.T. could jump, and it mentioned some random figure and that other people asked him that, too. :)

28. Don't know if anyone else will remember this,
but there was a show called Automan, which starred Desi Arnaz Jr. He had a car called Cursor. It was about a computer-generated guy who came to life. Cursor was also computer generated.
