Who doesn't love Ellen?
Every time someone I know sees Ellen (blond comedienne Ellen) on TV, inevitably they say, "I love Ellen."

Is Ellen like Sara Lee? Nobody doesn't like her?

2. How can you NOT love Ellen? The epitome of Dory? That role will
go down in history as the absolute defining moment of an actor embodying a role in all truth.

You can't NOT love Ellen!

7. My mother used to HATE Ellen....
She partially blamed Ellen for me being a lesbian. Ellen came out right around when I did. Well, not really, I was out to friends, but my mother searched my room, found writing with lesbian subjects, took me to a "shrink" (pedophile) to "fix" me, and generally blamed my homosexuality on several things...

1. Ellen Degeneres
2. Indigo Girls
3. My Grandmother...an evil old cunt who called me a dyke when I was 14, just because she was mad at me. My mother thought I was fragile enough to turn gay just from being called gay.
4. Getting involved in theatre

Honestly, I would have killed myself (being bipolar II & ADD) had it not been for several awesome HS teachers and my "adopted" parents. They essentially ran a halfway house for gay kids. I lived there for weeks at a time. Now my mom is okay with everything, my stepdad is even better than her. My stepbrother is most likely VERY, VERY GAYYYY! Jim, my stepdad, has already had the talk with me about it. He pretty much knows and totally accepts it, but he wants me to help Chris through everything when he finally comes out.

8. She is so unfunny, totally uninteresting. No one w/ a brain or a funnybone
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 04:14 AM by henslee
can say anything different. I don't know who you hang out with but no one I know ever says I love Ellen. There are few things I am violent about. One of them is my dislike for Ellen. If I could create a world in which 3 celebrities did not exist, Ellen and Leno would be two of them. On edit... I think this Ellen thing is a girl thing. It just aint guy humor.

9. it works for me
although I am not a regular watcher of her show - the talk show that is. I never saw the other one. I watched her show a few times, and although I do not remember it being hugely funny - she really seemed like a neat person. Plus she had cool musical guests like Earth Wind and Fire, and Chicago.

17. She was pretty funny...
...with a weird, quiet little take on the banal. I chalked it up to her carefully avoiding the subject of romance in her first years as a star.

I liked her work a lot, and have often wondered what that odd, beautiful mind could have done had it tackled the big issue.

10. I remember her at the 2002 Oscars.
She was the host and came onstage surrounded by a bunch of industry types.

Then she said, "What could piss off our enemies more than a lesbian in a suit surrounded by Jews?"

12. I can't say that I love her, or even that I like her.
Nothing bad about her, just not my cup of tea.

18. She is WAAAAAY too dry for my tastes.
Every now and then I'll laugh at something she does, but usually I just think she's unfunny.
