1. Well how big is your house?
I mean you are leaving at least 80,000 of us behind. If things get horrible can we stay at your place until we can find one of our own?:hi:

Been a very long time since I had experience with the Damn Fucking Cold thang. Lived for 10 years in Europe, where it was really damp in the winter, which made the cold seep right thru whatever ya wore, but it still wasn't that bone-deep Damn Fucking Cold so dry your nostrils stick together thang.

*brrrr*

It's so funny here in central Texas; everyone's feeling sorry for me, moving to the cold...Vancouver, average temps range winter to summer @ 40F to 80F. It gets colder here than it does in the Van. I don't correct em tho; don't want them moving there themselves. Heh. :D

I have had such amusing comments from some USers;

What's it like to dog-sled to work & school every day?

So is this the first time you've seen green grass instead of snow?

How do you sleep with 24-hour daylight 6 mths a year?

Now you'll have to buy a new wardrobe...shorts and stuff.

And my all-time fave I was actually asked twice about;

Do you get electricity in those igloos?

Yeah, they were all serious.

Another of my faves, not on weather, was "I've been to Canada, visited all 23 of your states."

Well cool, dude! I myself have never been to a single Canadian state, let alone all 23. :D

And there isn't a Canadian alive who's been to the US who hasn't heard the above remarks themselves, lol! I've a friend in Michigan who has a similiar list of remarks to her from Americans. :D

21. Sometime soon I hope to be joining you in Canada
My goal is Toronto, where my boyfriend is.

Meanwhile, I don't blame you a damn bit. I love this country, but it has been seriously damaged during this regime. I know, "you're a coward, stay and fight these bastards", etc, etc. But if I want to build a life, a future with my man, that future is in Canada. Besides, sometimes I think I'm really Canadian anyway. An accident of birth or something.

Well, even though it's 7AM here, here's a :toast: to going back home.

Terry

27. How nice!
My husband is Canadian-originally Winnipeg, but now most of his family is in the Ottawa area. We have considered moving back, but are going to see how the 2006 and 2008 elections go. Hopefully it won't be too late by then. I do envy you going to Vancouver. Ottawa is lovely, but this Texas gal would have a very hard time adapting to the winters. Best wishes!

Did my degrees at UM...can we say UMZOO! PAHTY! PAHTY! PAHTY! :evilgrin:

Went to St John's HS for the music. Bit of a long haul as I wasn't living in the North End, but I wanted St John's and that was that. Heh. Was great, had fab teachers, super friends and a really good time, especially in gr 12. :D

Couple years after I graduated tho St J's started going downhill. Ah well, I had a great time. :)

but as I was taking English, and living in Crestview (within shouting distance of the racetrack) I decided to switch to the U of W. Went to John Taylor Collegiate for HS - graduated 1973. I still miss Winnipeg; have lots of good friends there. BTW, yvr girl is in Vancouver, as well as HeyHey. Should be a good start to making new friends!
