Voodoo head found in air luggage

US immigration officials have arrested a Haitian woman after baggage screeners found a human head in her luggage at a Florida airport.

Myrlene Severe, 30, has been charged with failing to declare the head on a customs form and transporting "hazardous material".

She arrived at Florida's Fort Lauderdale airport on Thursday on a flight from Cap Haitien in north Haiti.

Ms Severe said that the head was to ward off evil sprits, officials said.

5. I'd like to see the law that

says you must declare human heads at customs. There probably is one about body parts though, and it certainly could be considered hazardous material if there was still tissue present.

You never know what you'll hear next. This is really weird.

And as another poster says, up to 15 years of hard time... hazardous material in air commerce being a big part of it.

But I'd love to see those laws too.

16. This reminds me of my doctoral advisor

she was a parasitologist. she would sometimes leave the country to get 'specimens' (read-fecal samples) and would have to declare them at US Customs.

Can you picture the poor customs official having to deal with that?
