ok, what gives? Old Navy's sizes are getting whacky |
|
So I went jeans shopping today, and my usual tank top size 0f Medium stayed the same, BUT the jean sizes were fucked up.
Size 12/14 used to be fine, but today the 14 was fucking small-- I had to get a size 16 (I know, I know, I'm fat). I've gained some weight this year, but a size 14 used to be fine in those cases.
Am I going crazy? Or has anyone else had this problem at Old Navy recently?

2. I just want to know why they have ultra low riders for jean sizes |
|
in the double digits
I mean I know I'm a double digit butt and that's just wrong with those low riders.

They had no at waist jeans. I can get away with thos "slightly below" the waist cuts, but anything lower than that and I look gross. x(

9. Seriously there is no need for that crap here in this world |
|
and I know better than anyone, seems you do too!
And the thing is when you go to the bargin racks all the pants size 14+ are the those really low riders. Have the powers to be who decide what clothes are sold at Old Navy seen this trend and maybe thought "Gee, does a woman with a size 16 pants really want the whole world looking at her buttcrack?" OBviously they aren't thinking that!

4. I've found that they think children's knuckles must drag on the ground. |
|
They make the sleeves of their shirts disproportionately long compared to the size listed on the tag.

I have long arms too, and I love it when I find sleeves that fit right.

My old Levis fit fine. My husband bought me two pairs last year for Christmas, exact same style and size -- too small. It pisses me off.

A skirt I purchased there last fall keeps insisting I'm shaped like a brick. Zero curves. :-(

11. Sizes in general. I remember when size 36 became the 'new' 34. And, |
|
how "Large" is now a size 34 waist, :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: :wtf: ?
Great. I've got my honkey ass down to a size 32.5 and I'm having to buy LARGE boxer drawers? No flippin' way is 32-34 LARGE!!!
Of course, that means XL on upward means more people have to shell out the extra dough for what they used to pay for the same things...
I'm not surprised.

|
and pretty normal in back which means ----no crack:D They have a little stretch and are a good deal.

15. GAP sizing is pretty consistent in my experience |
|
I buy thier jeans almost exclusively (at thrift stores- I hardly every buy new clothes) because they fit me well, are cut nicely for my butt and I'm the same size in many different styles so I don't have to waste time trying on pants that don't fit.
Why Old Navy's sizing is so screwy when they're the same company, I have no idea.

Couldn't find a damn thing I'd be caught dead in. I'm old and dumpy, and the clothes, especially the pants, are cut for people who have no butts. Unfortunately, those pants are nevertheless worn by people who do have butts -- big ones -- and look like hell in them. WTF is it (Old Fogy Rant coming up) with girls wearing tight, low-cut pants with panty lines and cellulite showing and short, tight little tops where you can see their bra straps cutting into their back flab, and their huge nekkid spare tires hanging out in between? Girls, c'mon! -- you don't look cute; you look fat and slutty. (Rant over)

27. Each pair is cut differently. |
|
I wear two different jeans sizes at Old Navy, and the only way to know for sure which one on which cut is to try them on.
