Vice President Dick Cheney raised eyebrows today in Washington, even among selected members of his own party. "The War on Terror," he proclaimed, "can best be won by busting a cap in the ass of every American citizen who questions my motives."

Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman was quick to distance himself from the Vice President's remarks, stating "I don't believe that the Vice President is speaking about the literal asses of the American people, or busting literal caps for that matter...I see his statement as a clear call to address the obvious anger of potential Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton. Isn't she angry? Really. Isn't she?"

Cheney concluded his remarks shortly before representatives of the Washington D.C. Zoo shot a tranquilizer dart into his oversized pock-marked ass. "Owwww," he proclaimed, before falling onto the concrete. Zoo workers captured the Vice President and drove him to a nearby park, where he will be released into his natural habitat.

Whew. It doesn't get any clearer than this though I strongly suspect that this won't have any influence on that reptile's attitudes or behaviors so, this will all happen again, in some form or other. ... just the way it goes.
