Next 24/7 "non news" news story .... M. Kawn out of Olympics.
Guaranteed this will get major play and at least 3 in depth and up
close and personal stories on how this young, beautiful, smart, and
very rich women will be able to go on with her life.

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/02/12/sports/olympics/12cnd-kwan.html?8dpc

But the people who are still homeless from Katrina or the auto workers who
just lost their jobs will not get a mention.

1. That's not fair
She had a dream, to win a gold medal at the Olympics. She isn't responsible for the ills of the planet, and denigrating her disappointment doesn't fix anything. It only makes you look petty.

5. I don' t think this was Botany's intention. He was slamming the media,
not Ms. Kwan.

7. Got me wrong
I am in awe of her talent and beauty and I am sure she will handle what is
obviously a crushing personal disappointment w/ class and dignity.

Read my opening line ...... my bitch is that this will be blow up to make
it seem far more important then it really is in context of what is truly
important.

2. But...it's Michelle! It's America's sweetheart...it's
...all bullshit.

What's worse is, after watching the Democratic leader's and Tom Daschle's pathetic performance on MTP today, the "Kwan-troversy" might be more interesting. They had a softball to hit and they struck out. Unbelievable.

4. She Should Never Have Gone!!!!
Emily Hughes should have been the one to go as she took 3rd in the tryouts.

Listening to Michelle saying "I just don't feel right", lady, you aren't in the Olympics to "feel", you jumped over Emily Hughes head to get there and you should have never gone, or sucked it up and skated anyway!!!

There

Now, the Olympics will be the news for the next few weeks, and it is a waited for distraction for * I'm sure since he has so many things to need distractions for including the two you mentioned.

9. Nah, the Olympics has too many stories
coming out of it to focus too long on MK.. They'll babble about the dark horse winners, berate Bode Miller if he doesn't win medal, etc. It's a fast moving news cycle. She'll be gone before you can blink.
