I wish I were an only child sometimes............
Talked to my Mom about what she and Dad would like for their 25 year anniversary (second marriage for both) and Mom started crying. Not that she was sad per se, it's just that she told me of all the kids, I'm the only one who would think of such a thing. My siblings are not the most thoughtful people lately (understatement)

I'm sick and tired of these spoiled, ungrateful brats. To top it off, my sister called my aunt on Xmas, but not my Mom. See, my sister has "issues" with my parents even though she's almost 40. (grow up already) My mom tries so hard with my sister for the sake of the grandchildren it's a little annoying to see the same thing go on and on year after year. :( My step-siblings are just spoiled brats, they had it pretty easy compared to my upbringing but you don't see me ignoring the parents, eh?

But, back to the stubborn one, my sister, it's a real shame what she and her control-freak of a husband are doing to the family. F&&k em.

Just my rant..... :(

1. Too bad, Darth_Kitten. At least your mother has YOU.
Some parents don't even have one child who treats them as though they're actually people with feelings.

2. I was/am an only child.
In some ways, I had it all too easy. Not deliberately or intentional, of course. But it made up for the flip side of the coin.

Would have having a brother or sister help with my Asperger's Syndrome? It's up for speculation.

3. I'm an only child....
I love it dearly, but sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have that sibling-connection with someone...Even if it were sour at times, like yours seem to be right now.

Oh well. I am who I am.

4. I'm just really pissed at my siblings right now....
it just seems like such a hassle all the time. :)

I guess there are both benefits and drawbacks in both single & multi-child families :)

5. My husband is in the same position as you.
I am, gratefully, an only child.
