1. I wish I was not married at times... |
|
As Erma said "The grass is always greener over the septic tank..."
We all have difficult times, single or attached. Some days I think that I gave up so much just to be somebody's mom. But most days...I'm okay.

2. There were two threads on DU a week or two ago... |
|
One that asked the advantages of being single. The other (mine, naturally) asked the advantages of being married.
Mine didn't give as many responses, but those reponses seemed far more appealing.
And  Things always work out. After all, I'm still here. :7

3. What does a "real" relationship mean, for you? |
|
Just curious...
I will say this: right now the Prophetess is having the worst pain of her life, and I am doing my best to take care of her. Wouldn't trade it for being single in a minute, no way.

4. I've often spoken of what I think it is... |
|
Caring for another person. Knowing they care about you. Appreciating them. Working with them.
Especially replying to some people who are pining away for a divorce or, worse, afraid of marriage - in either care for the most shallow of reasons.
I'm happy for you, BTW. and I hope Mrs P gets better. But my pain is eternal. And I'd trade it for anything.

Really, I can't say as I blame you for feeling that way.

6. i've had great relationships -- and |

i LOVE being single.
at this stage in my life i prefer affairs to anything else -- they go home when we're done.
or i do.
i've not found that one has an advantage over the other.
but i do have an independant streak -- about a mile wide.

I have been single so long I am not sure I could handle having somebody else living in my house, although I bought a house big enough for somebody to move in with me. Now it seems to be filled with my own stuff. Maybe there'd be room for one more person.
My problem with affairs is the long dry spell in between them. Right now it has been nine years since my last date. I find that to be a huge disadvantage.

It seems unfair sometimes, but other times I could not care less.
