In eggs, in soup, on a pizza, in a pita. Is there anything it can't do?

they call it Niewe Hierring. Every summer it's a big thing there-they have booths on the street that sell it. Good stuff, that.

It should be said of me. I know that in the Scandanavian countries they do the same thing. I ready to go evertime I read about it. Did they put any condiments or vegs on the sandwich?

trying to find salted herring so he could pickle the stuff. Usually I didn't complain cause I'll eat it too. Only problem was salted herring is a real ethnic food and getting harder and harder to find in these days of super-mega-grocery stores. I was able to find a steady supply in a kosher shop. Every time I would visit I would have 3-4 'schmaltz' with me.
