Is it just me or does the Olympic TV image look horrible? |
|
The commercials are as clear as a bell, but the competition video is this nasty, grainy, high-contrast, overly bright, annoyingly ugly image. I think it's a byproduct of the HDTV signal converted to analog for regular TV. It's unacceptable IMO.

4. The worst part is it makes the athletes look really unattractive |

Like they all have skin cancer on their faces. I'm going to complain to NBC just for the heck of it.

5. They put it through some kind of sharpening filter that ruins it. |

It is just terrible, horrible. And the camera work at some points is also horrible. The cameraman at the end of the half-pipe snowboard run is drunk off his ass and can't hold the camera still. Also the cameras during the figure skating are zoomed in way too close to the skaters.
