Does she offer any insight into her methods? I just find it so confusing. Are there any works that are not posted on her website in the book?

I'm not really into art. But something about her stuff makes me happy.

41. It's a _beautiful_ book.

I ordered a copy for my sister-in-law, too. :thumbsup: There are a few photos that aren't on the website, too. I'd recommend getting the book, if you really enjoy Ms. Lux's work, because the website photos are so tiny that it's difficult to discern the magic of her work.

About her methods, the introduction to the book says: "Digitally altered Ilfochrome prints, these pictures testify to the marvels that can be worked with a good eye and a computer. Their size (they range from just under 12 to almost 20 inches on a side) is as intimate, an unintimidating, and as compelling of close inspectation as a portrait by Hans Memling. Lux poses her models, the children of friends, most often against a bare wall and then digitally adds the backgrounds, borrowed from photographs she has taken in her travels."

I've read elsewhere that she spends up to two months making a single image, and that she has the clothing for her models specially made in the style of the clothing worn by children when Ms. Lux was growing up in East Germany.
