Philly folks! I'm playing in Upper Darby this Saturday night (Feb. 18)! |
|
I'll be playing with The Vibe Tribe at JD McGillicuddy's in Upper Darby this Saturday, probably at 10. It should be quite a good time, since we can apparently play whatever we want in addition to the usual cover tunes we normally do. I'll be the keyboardist. :) Come on out and see us, won't you?

1. Is Upper Darby still as rough a neighborhood as it was in the 70s? |

2. Not as far as I can tell. |
|
Granted, my only real experience with Upper Darby has been going to shows at the Tower Theater, but I've never had any problems.

They say it's gotten very Asian.

Parts of it maybe - there is a very large Hmong community in St. Paul. There is also a very large Somali community in Minneapolis, but by far, the fastest growing subset of the population is Latino.

8. In our area, the fastest growing population is east-Asian |
|
I just read some statistic about people from India in the Philadelphia area. I think they're the largest non-native-born population right now. Either the largest pop or the fastest-growing.
A lot of the Minneapolis Somali population seems to work at the airport. Between them and all the nordic-descent people in the area, I love going to Minnesota - I feel downright petite at 5'11"!

to Msgr.Bonner. Live in CT now but still have a place at the shore. Are you playing Jacks again this season? Maybe the Rockin' Chair? Anyway as a fellow musician just curious what a place like Jack's pays for bands during the season.

My dad went to Bonner as well. Not sure what the story is with Jack's or my playing there. There's a good chance I might join this band as a regular member, but I know nothing about the summer schedule yet. Apparently, Jack's didn't do too well last summer. I'll ask what they usually pay.
