Question for geeks: Can computer speakers pick up other things? |
|
For instance, phone conversations and/or radio transmissions?
I've rebooted my computer and I seem to still be picking up something through my speakers.

2. Powerful radio transmitters can come over speakers, yes. |

5. I wonder if a ham moved in close by |
|
That's kinda what it sounds like. Is there anyway to prevent it?

9. Radio Shack may have some filters to prevent it... |
|
I used to transmit over a neighbor's door speaker when I keyed up too close.

6. One of the wires leading to/from your speakers is acting like an antenna |
|
Just move the wires around a bit, and I'll bet it goes away.

7. Yep. Mine grab the fact I have an incoming cell phone before the phone. |
|
If the cell phone is near the speakers, the speakers will make a bunch of noise about a second or so before the phone lights up and rings.
But they can also pick up other things - that's the beauty of EM radiation.

Makes it hard to grip things.
