Given how insane this place has gone over hearts |
|
Would it be advisable for me to avoid D.U. tomorrow for fear that valentine naffness will overwhealm my delicate physiology and make me ill?

1. why don't you just adblock that image? |

And no - tomorrow will be mostly a flame war between people who hate Valentines Day and those who enjoy it.

trying to make us jealous!
I was afraid that this could turn into something ugly--just like in grade school. You don't see ME going out of my way to make the DU-ers who don't have hearts feel bad because some of us can say that SOMEBODY around here loves them while they're obviously pathetic losers!

7. This seemed like a good idea at first. |
|
But it certainly has an ugly side. I already see enough newer DUers complain about how some people are obviously much more popular, while their own threads and posts get ignored. This is destructive for the same reasons that popularity threads and calling out DUers aren't allowed.

I remember our 'pessimism' hour in Kindergarten, even. ;)
And there's no Valentine day here.

Valentine's Day here is still limited to couples (thankfully) - but I greatly fear that the American version will cross the Atlantic and make the day unbearable. I do have to note that I find the idea of young children passing mass Valentines in school somewhat concerning - maybe that's just me.

At least business-wise. I haven't heard of passing mass Valentines in school yet, and I'm happy about that. If we had it where I went to school, it would've been a disaster ...
