In the attics of my life
Full of cloudy dreams unreal
Full of tastes no tongue can know
And lights no eye can see
When there was no ear to hear
You sang to me

I have spent my life
Seeking all that's still unsung
Bent my ear to hear the tune
And closed my eyes to see
When there were no strings to play
You played to me

In the book of love's own dreams
Where all the print is blood
Where all the pages are my days
And all my lights grow old

When I had no wings to fly
You flew to me
You flew to me

In the secret space of dreams
Where I dreaming lay amazed
When the secrets all are told
And the petals all unfold
When there was no dream of mine
You dreamed of me

2. Oh, that would have been good...
We had 'Not Fade Away' at our reception-it was the song where I first confessed my love.

7. Attics was the First Dance at our wedding
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 04:49 PM by new_beawr
One Night, we were listening to this song and I told my wife that the song described part of what I felt about her....

Ripple was the first song I sang to my newborn son
The first song I sang for my Daughter was Saint Behind the Glass - Los Lobos.....

Our Processional was a brass ensemble performing Canzon Duodecimi Toni by G. Gabrielli

Our Recessional was Linus and Lucy, composed by Vince Guaraldi

We sang "One Hand, One Heart" from West Side Story to each other during the service

We have lots of musician friends.....

8. Our recessional was "One More Saturday Night"
We were married in the most historic church in town...the Unitarian. Building had been used during the Revolutionary War as a stable by the British. It was an acid test type of day. Best man was Mormon, maid of honor was a witch, the preacher was late and wearing really ratty sneakers under his robe.

And we had tourists.

9. Ours was in my in-laws front lawn
With a Rabbi and a bunch of musicians. I looked up your profile - The Wife and I absolutely love Charleston, SC. If you were married in the old part of Charleston, man, that would be sweeeeeet....

We did not have an Acid Test sort of day, rather, it was a Westchester County Jewish Preppie Martha Stewart sort of wedding... The Honeymoon in the Colorado Rockies....now that was a different thing altogether

4. Best version: Rehearsal at Club Front, April 23, 1976.
I have a version of this that is album-perfect. The harmonies they were capable of in 1976 were just gorgeous. Check out the 6-12-76 version of "Mission in the Rain" for more proof.

6. my sister played a dylan song at her second wedding
one of his newer songs...that is covered by neo-fokeies... I think it was called "to feel my love".

Ripple was played at her first wedding. She also had dancing bear ice sculptures at the first wedding. :kick:

Bob Weir is playing around here soon....
