How many U.S. Olympians you figure are * supporters? |
|
I kinda have an idea most are, since they all seem to talk about getting choked up during the national anthem.
OTOH, I despise flag-waving and that fucking song, but if I were competing in the Olympics I suppose that moment might prove pretty overwhelming.

1. I think one can get choked up during the national anthem... |

without being a Bush supporter.
I refuse to let neocon Republicans and Bush-lovers define patriotism for me. I admit I feel more sadness than anything else now when I hear the "the land of the free and the home of the brave," but I don't think a love of country and anthem needs to be tied to Bush. After all, don't we love our country enough to try to take it back from Bush and his ilk?

2. I'd bet the majority aren't. |

Too much contact with the rest of the world. Chimplovers can only thrive within the hermetically-sealed vacuum of US borders and FOX.

in their little athletic worlds since they were old enough to strap on skates or whatever? And doesn't athletics foster a sense of following rather than leading?
I'm just throwin' this out for discussion. I dunno if it's one way or the other, or neither.
