when it is that cold. What happens, is we hear that the nasty cold is coming, then we proceed directly to the grocery store (and the liquor store if one is so inclined) and stock up, so we do not have to go outside.

I have rather poor circulation myself, but I have a great coat, and I dress in several thin layers when it is that cold, and I have to go out. We also have cornered the market on the aftermarket remote car starters...they are a gift from the gods.

If the ambient high temperature for the day does not crack -10, that is it! Usually with windchill of <-40.

Coldest I've ever been in was this weird winter — '90 or '91. It got down to like 18 for a few days — this is on the central coast of Kollyforniya, friends — and I thought I was gonna die. People were freaking. The news was all about how to wrap your pipes and stuff. Nobody had a clue.
