They're going to try to contact my former employer. That's all that worries me. I don't think they like me much over there. :scared:

But, I think they won't interview anyone more qualified than me.

If it's not to be, I have a job now, and I'll deal with the future as it comes.

Thank them for interviewing you for the job. Talk about why you are a good fit. Close by inviting them to contact you if they require any additional information or clarification. You can also say that if you don't hear from them in two weeks you will contact them to see where you stand.

Don't worry about the background check. Your current employer won't say anything negative. They are too worried about lawsuits.
And yes, as stated above, send thank-you notes to everyone who was involved with the interview process.
