Did that US Olympic skater just diss the repugs? |
|
Johnny Weir, I think that's his name, make some remark about how his life style was not liked by the "republican South?" Anyone else catch that?

And known for off-the-wall, in-your-face comments. I can't wait until the fundie, gestapo rethugs explode their heads over him. There is also a thread about him here in the Lounge.

He said something like "Some people, the more republican types are afraid of what I say and what I mean to the sport, and that's fine with me. They should be afraid of me." http://www.nbcolympics.com/athletes/5072358/detail.html

The pukes already hate him. You know what they think of a man who is involved in figure skating.
Making the comments he did just added fuel to the fire.

That's not a spoiler, that's my prediction. I don't think ANYONE can beat Yevgeny Plushenko right now. Even Johnny Weir said the same.

21. He most certainly did and the Pukes on the figure skating boards |
|
are having fits over it.
The past couple of days, I've been spending most of my time following the results (live) on a particular figure skating board and have been following the commentary while NBC broadcasts here in the US
When this interview with Johnny ran tonight on NBC, heads literally exploded. The Pukes' hypocrisy even comes through in figure skating. They all say that Johnny is just obnoxious and doesn't have the right to say what he says.
I just hope and pray that Johnny wins the silver on Thursday night. No one has a chance against Plushenko unless he completely melts down in the free skate and I don't think that's gonna happen. Even if it did, I still think Plushy would get the gold.
I've been following figure skating for years and the scores that Plushenko received today were just way over the top. Hell during his SP, I still can't figure out why he skated what he skated to Tosca. His elements didn't even come close to matching the music. But he's never been my "cup of tea" skatingwise for years. Give me someone like John Curry, Brian Boitano, Paul Wylie anyday over a jump crazed Eastern European.

24. I agree, re: Plushenko |
|
I mean, he IS a very good skater, but the marks he got tonight -- jeez! WFT? The guy who is now in 3rd -- can't recall his name -- did a great job, as did Weir, but their scores were so much lower, it stinks.
And I, too, hope Johnny gets the silver. His remarks, though, are gold medal -- especially for the reaction they caused in freeperland!

25. Plushenko was the only one who did a clean program and a |
|
quad. Weir didn't even attempt a quad. The guy in third place messed up his jump combination.

27. No, Stephane Lambiel didn't mess up on his combination, he did the |
|
exact same one as Plushenko, quad toe, triple toe. What he did mess up on was his triple axel, he only did a double.
As for Johnny, don't be at all surprised if he does a quad Thursday night. He's been landing them in practice and both Plushenko and Lambiel skate before him in the final flight Thursday night, so he'll know before he hits the ice if he needs one or not. But I'm betting he'll attempt one, landing it, we'll just to have wait and see.

28. Attempting it in practice and landing it in competition is |
|
not the same thing, obviously. Weir might need that quad, though, if he wants a medal.
