Olympic skater gives his bonus to kids in Darfur. (spoiler...?)

I'm seeing on CNN that Joey Cheek is giving up his 25K bonus to kids in Darfur because he thinks that it's genocide and our country is slow to act. He's giving his entire bonus to Right to Play.

How cool is that? I guess he's a speed skater?
