I used to be on meds, but now that I've dropped so much weight, and exercise regularly, I'm med free, and getting good reports.

16. Funny You Asked That! |
|
Last Thursday, it was 175 over 115. That's one reason they kept me in the hospital. Same all day Friday. By Sat. morning, it was done to 128 over 78. Stayed there until Monday morning and was 170something over 110 again. But, by that afternoon was 130 over 84.
Now, i have to check it every day. It was 128/82 this morning. The Professor

23. Mine is ok as long as I stay the hell away from the doctor's office |
|
and the minute I get there it soars to 150/90 or something because they STRESS me out beyond all belief.
It is fine while I am at home. You might invest in a wrist type of blood pressure monitor and keep track of the readings (write them down) and see if you really are hypertensive or is it "White Coat Syndrome" (a bona fide recognized condition that causes a person's BP to go up when they go into see the doctor).
I suspect the other tips here are all good to lower blood pressure but I'd suggest monitoring it twice a day and keep a record for over a month before you decide to take the BP meds which can be highly toxic for some people.

Pretty good, huh? That was right after lunch and walking a mile to the Doctor's office. And despite being 30 lbs overweight and a total salt addict (and the dr. was a gyno, so I was stressed out too!).
I just have naturally low blood pressure - if I go to the doctor early in the morning before eating, I will sometimes get readings of 90/60 and below (scary, huh?). But to tell you the truth, I wish it would get a little higher. It's actually a bit of a problem sometimes if I don't eat enough or wait too long before meals. My sugar plummets and my BP goes with it, and I've fainted on several occasions when I stood up too suddenly. I get dizzy a lot too unless I eat 6 times a day. I keep complaining to the Dr. about it, but they won't take me seriously (prob. because I am overweight and they think it's just peachy that my BP is low). I think I'd rather be a little high and not dizzy when I'm hungry.
