For those of you who think Sting became a corporate sellout, I say HA!!
I just saw him in concert in Las Vegas and he was incredible! He performed lots of old Police songs as well as a few of his solo hits. He invited all of the women in my company to dance onstage with him during "Desert Rose."

Oh, yeah, this was at a convention celebrating my, er... corporation's... 20th anniversary. But, but, but, he started his set with "Message in a Bottle" and then "Synchronicity II", so he was probably trying to undermine the system from within the system! Right? RIGHT???

I'll post pictures later if anyone's interested.

1. But...but...he was performing at a corporate event...
I, uh...*head spins*

I did see The Police in 1983 or so, and that was a great show. For what THAT'S worth, anyway...

4. I saw them outdoors in November, I think.
A storm blew through and about blew the scaffolding on the stage over. Sting asked us if we'd cathe them if they were blown off stage. :D Ahhh...the late, great South Park Meadows...

6. I don't remember the month...
but I saw them for the Synchronicity tour ... I thought it was Ghost in the Machine at first but now I'm pretty sure it was Synchronicity. Saw them at Reunion Arena. I remember mooning over Stewart because I had such a crush on him.

5. I don't think he's a sellout at all. I like him - talented, smart,
and does some pretty darn good music, and has a great voice. Even his acting isn't too bad.

I got to hear him one morning a couple years performing at Rockefeller Center for a morning show - I was walking to work and thought "That sounds like Sting!" so I walked over and watched and listened.

That's one of the cool things about NYC.

8. I love the Police, and I like a lot of his early solo stuff
"All This Time", which he played the other night, is one of my favorite songs. I just think that lately, (starting with the godawful song he did with Rod Stewart and Bryan Adams) he's lost his edge.

He was tremendous in concert, though. He was full of energy and did a lot of his early hits.

9. yup
the ladies love Sting! I think he is much more talented musically than people give him credit for. I like the Police stuff and much of his later solo stuff.

11. I still don't get the Jaguar thing
I mean, he did commercials for them. A gas-guzzling car company! I have to admit, I really did lose respect for him with that.

However, I think his wife is quite cool.
