Why the frig do people with mental illness always give me advice?
I mean people on the street, usually scruffy, most likely homeless. I have nothing against them, but they always seem to tell me things.
Like today, I was sitting there on a bench enjoying a cup of coffee, and some guy walks by and just says, "it's not THAT big of a deal." I assumed he figured I was agonizing over some kind of problem, when all I was doing was drinking coffee. This shit happens all the time to me.... what the fuck is with that?

1. The homeless are as close to real freedom... apart from being dead.
They have little to give up. Little left TO lose.

Makes them more sane than the rest of us, it seems... we're slaves to our bills and will do anything (as much as we can) to keep paying them. They have none.

You're just drinking coffee, HEyHEY. :)

Seriously though, I think that there are sometimes mental health conditions that cause people to shout things. However, I suspect it's more likely that he just wanted to talk to someone and you looked like a nice person. Or at least someone that wouldn't attack him. Human contact and attention is invaluable, even if people sometimes think you're crazy.

7. Before I answer, do you consider replies to this question "advice?"

8. Why do you assume he had a mental illness?
Maybe he was just a buttinsky. There are perfectly "normal" people who like to hand out unsolicited advice to people. They are annoying, but that doesn't mean they have a mental illness.
