There was a strange message in LOST tonight
I can almost catch a glimpse of something very important going on here. An anti-something flavor happening. Each character representing a different culture, or country or ideal. Intense show tonight.

1. I noticed two things:

1. The main storyline takes place around 1997 (at the earliest). You can tell by Sayid's line "for the next 6 years" and the US commander's "Your man Saddam gets to stay in power," which places Sayid's flashback scenes in 1991.

2. What was with the heiroglyphics when the timer ran out?

2. **spoiler**
what were those symbols? They almost looked like Egyptian hyeroglyphs... I tried to rewin and freeze each DVR frame to figure out the symbols and, while one appears to be a crude drawing of a missile, I'm not 100% sure.

5. The hyeroglyphs, the tree frog, the "other"
the food, the French woman comes & goes, personality changes or truer personalities showing up. This show drives me nuts. Why do I watch it?
