But I still favor "The Wire." Amazing storytelling, even better than "Homicide." "The Shield" is still one of my favorite shows on television, though. "24" is still entertaining, but it's a little cartoonish. It's not even my favorite spy drama, "Alias" holds that spot. And of course, "Lost" is just awesome. I feel like my favorite show changes constantly. And with "West Wing" and "Alias" on hiatus, "The Wire" not coming back until the fall, "Deadwood" in the summer, and "The Sopranos" still a few weeks away, it's "The Shield" and "Lost."

"The Shield" gave me a heck of a lot of "RESPECT!" for Anthony Anderson, who I previously had only seen in comedic roles, damn, his character was a badass.

ETA: Of course, "Arrested Development" is up at the top, but unfortunately it is likely gone. It's hard to imagine anything topping the brilliance of that show as far as comedies go.
