Hell! When I was a boy, vice presidents shot people all the time!
It's not like they had anything else to do...

I remember ol' Cactus Jack Garner used to preside over the Senate, shotgun in hand, and pick off people in the galleries. Why, he shot Huey Long once. Naw, he didn't kill him... just nicked his arm a bit. The Kingfish laughed like hell over that one.

And I know for a fact that Charles Dawes kept a Thompson submachine gun at his side at all times. He called it "The Tiebreaker."

Veeps these days are a bunch of damn sissies. They didn't know the meaning of "accidental shooting" or "horrible maiming" back in the good ol' days.

Teddy Roosevelt said to speak softly and carry a big stick. Did you think that was just a turn of phrase? Hell no it wasn't. He literally had a big damn stick. Used to beat isolationists with it.

"Accident"? Jeez. Grow a pair, you lilly-livered namby pamby.
