Any tips on getting it out?

1. Dab up all you can...
... and use one of those enzymatic pet-stain removers. Might work.

Bleach will work, but it will bleach your carpet also :(

5. Get out some white wine
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 09:14 PM by Gormy Cuss
I kid you not. It's the first tip. Dump white wine over the red to neutralize the red color.
I have not tried this but I do know that blotting with a towel is a very good start.

When red wine is spilled onto your carpet, white wine can be your true companion. White wine will neutralize red wine and will make it easier to lift the color off of your carpet. Simply pour white wine over the stained area and very gently blot the liquid up with a thick towel (be very careful not to rub as this will force the stain into the carpet fibers). Once you have the majority of the spill blotted up, take your favorite carpet shampoo and clean as you would if the wine stain were a bit of dirt on the carpet.

13. Yes, back when I had carpets, that was my best friend.
Thank goodness I have all hardwood now ... so much easier to clean up the tons of dirt, fur, crumbs, and dropped macaroni and cheese that kids and pets leave all over the house.

Once they spray-painted an upholstered sofa, too. I'm thinking of adding, "Never been touched by Trading Spaces" to our listing.

No, I don't recommend you do it. I hope you can get the wine out using one of the many good suggestions from others. :D

btw, I decided against pergo for now. I'm having my fence replaced. It's MUCH more of an issue. I found two off-duty firefighters who do fencing on the side. They're going to do the job for me. :D
