Kodokan etai etai etai yo damn it.
Nineteen fifty three or so in Japan Panzer and I did another foolish thing one of many mistakes. We decided to attend judo school. Become black belts. Maybe even Karate masters. Oh yeah!

We looked pretty spiffy in our brand new Judo outfits with white belts. Our instructor spoke very little English but by pushing and shoving and demonstrating we determined he was going to teach us how to fall without pain and discomfort (yeah sure). His judo belt was red and white. Wonder why?

So for many evenings when visiting the kodokan that is all we did Panzer and me. We learned to fall without pain and discomfort. Actually it really hurt a whole lot falling on the hard straw mats. A visit to the community bath and a soak in the hot tub with the other judo students after class eased the pain somewhat.

After a few weeks of learning to fall we were finally introduced to some real Judo moves. Our real Judo move instructors took great pleasure in bouncing our American bodies hither and yon thump boom bang bounce crash damn. "Hey Pppppppanzer I tttttthink ttttttthey are tttttttrying to kill us."

Boom crash.

To be continued maybe.
