You gotta love Texas
Alright, you don't, but for the sake of my post indulge me. :)

It was a balmy 87 degrees here today, right now it's 70. I have tender perennials springing up all over in the yard. The birds were out making bird whoopie in the trees. All around it was a lovely spring day. I love spring, really I do. It's my favorite season of the year.

But wait, tomorrows high is going to be well over 40 degrees colder and my daughter called and said it's about to snow in her part of the state. Right now one room of my house if filled with baby plants and grow lights. Every time I think it's safe to put them out, after all we didn't have a freakin' winter this year until two weeks ago, it decides to freeze. :P

What I want to know is how in the world did anything ever adapt to these wild weather changes enough to become native to the state?

Needless to say I've been out covering up all my outside faucets and plants.... AGAIN. LOL!

1. Thankfully, we're not expected to get a hard freeze here in the city.
All the green stuff in my yard survived the last cold snap, so they should be ok through this too.

Today was really nice! My ceiling fan is still on. :D

You know I was bred in the warm California sun. I can take the heat but I hate the cold. :scared:

P.S. Congrats again on your great news!!! :toast:

I actually don't mind Texas winters. I don't mind a little cold - it keeps the bug population down a bit. :D

Edit - thanks again! :woohoo:

7. It was beautiful today!
I'm flying back to Seattle tomorrow - where it's in the 30s or some godawful temperature. I had to bring a mixture of clothing with me on this trip. Oh well, like you said, you gotta love Texas. :D

9. In the winter here we never put away our light clothes
To live in Texas requires large closets. :D

Why didn't you bring us any rain from Seattle? That is one thing I've always envied you guys, the amount of rainfall you get. :hi:

15. It is going to be freezing here.
We will not get above 35 the next 2 days, and we are expecting freezing rain and snow. I hope we get some moisture out of this.

17. Your weather sounds like my daughters
She's up in north Texas at college right now.

I'm in the hill country and they said it'll be freezing at night and in the high 30's to low 40's in the daytime.

Don't you love how we never get a chance to acclimate. :D
