Amusing note reading some "comic books" from the library |
|
catching up on some titles I'd missed in the past few years . . .
Reading the Ultimate Avengers . . .
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. points out that their intelligence system is so sophisticated and good, "It could find a Democrat in Texas".
Rather interesting read; Captain America is not above taking cheap shots, and Thor's a bleeding heart liberal . . .

The avengers have always been kind of iffy. Usually poorly written, with shallow characters, and very predictable.
But the ultimates actually flesh out the characters very well.

And the new straight to DVD movie (based on the book) is great as well.
The entire Ultimate line from Marvel is great, IMO
