I saw this in Downtown Stevens Point today..
A Hummer H2 with a vanity license plate that said "PASTORS". It had a bumper sticker on the back that said "Don't let the car fool you, my true reward is in heaven.

Since when do clergy make enough bread to buy a fscking HUMMER??

1. I bet pastors of megachurches really rake it in
If everybody gives 5 bucks to the collection plate and there are 2,000 people there, that's 10,000 bucks a week, and half a million a year.

3. I was thinking megachurch, too.
But still, a minister driving a Hummer. This may be my ELCA background talking, but I think there's something very fundamentally wrong with that.

4. And that's it - it's FUNDAMENTALLY wrong,
meaning, it's more than likely being driven by a fundamentalist. Probably one of the assholes preaching the "Prosperity Gospel", that God rewards the faithful with great material rewards and that it's okay to show your riches and enjoy them, as long as you give 10 percent to the church so that the pastor can make a lot of money and the church can build great big buildings that are never used to help the downtrodden or poor.

5. I may not have gone to church since 2001...
But I seem to remember Jesus saying something about rich men, camels and eyes of needles somewhere.
