Admit it, you used to want to be a ninja!
Seriously, you had throwing stars and all that stuff, don't lie. I dabbled, but mainly I just liked the karate aspect of martial arts. Eventually, I became more interested in fighting in general, wrestling, boxing and MMA. But, it all started with the mid-80's ninja craze. I mean seriously, I used to think there actually were people who wandered around getting into epic hand to hand, sword to sword battles like that. And, that ninjas were indestructable to a regular mortal. Only a ninja can defeat a ninja! Favorite ninja movie? Ninja 3: The Domination! Even the "Seinfeld four!" guy has a cameo. :) I was vastly disappointed to see Tom Cruise wax a couple ninjas out a few years ago. That shattered my boyhood illusions. Well, actually, not automatically being a babe magnet once high school started shattered those already, but I digress...

4. hahahaha
that's cute. I had a friend who I used to call "Conan." She was lots of fun. I can't remember how that started. I used to call one of her friends "SheRa" but that didn't stick. :)

6. I know, right?
I look back at that one and crack up. I had much longer hair than her for awhile, but once again, it's now much shorter!

Conan, huh? Silliness!

7. What are you talking about? I WAS a NINJA!
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 06:19 PM by DS1
When I was about 12-13ish I had the total ninja outfit, and I'd go stalking around backyards with shuriken in the little pouch on the inside of the top. Even had the tabi boots, too. And yes, I took martial arts classes.

And no, I'm not ashamed of my actions

13. I Once Was Trained By A Ninja For A Short Time.
Use the shadows my friend, use the shadows.

(I can also sneak up on anybody without making a sound. My wife is terrified of that ability and doesn't know to this day how the heck I pull it off LOL)

17. I hate to break it to you, but that costume...
…is what was worn by ancient Japanese stage hands. That way they could scuttle about and muck with the scenery without being noticed by the audience.

Much of what people (including the Japanese, sadly) think about ninjas is pure myth, and that's assuming the ninjas themselves weren't a myth to begin with. Some say the "ninjas" were just samurai who were looking to hide their identity any time they were ordered to do something that broke the samurai code.
