Britney Spears: In her absence, music scene has been "a huge, boring lull"
Still, the 24-year-old pop princess said she craves the spotlight and is eager to get back onstage after a year-and-a-half marriage-and-maternity leave.

"This may sound weird, but I miss traveling," she said. "I miss the road, seeing different places and being with the dancers and having fun. That feeling of being on the stage, knowing it's your best -- I love that. I needed a break. I needed to be hungry again."

Spears, who is recording an album slated for release later this year, says she thinks she can fill a "huge lull" in a dull pop scene.

"It's been boring," she says. "Nothing's been wow to me."

2. This coming from the woman
who's married to Mr. Popa Zao (or however the hell you spell that ridiculous song). I bow to her superior music knowledge and realize that I have been mistaken in liking anything that has come out in the past 18 months.

4. She craves the limelight and attention, but yet wants the
media to leave her alone... hmmmm...... then, do what Sandra Bullock does, live in Texas or someplace, act relatively normal and unskany, and quit breaking child endangerment laws. Oh, and lose Mr. SnapCRaccklePop while you're at it.

She only wants attention SHE controls.

God, I hate her... she helped ruin chick music the last few years...

News for Bittney - if you are really not that good to begin with, and you leave the limelight for a year, people forget about you PDQ.

9. The "Namie Amuro Factor."
After her first album, 18 year old Namie Amuro was the BIGGEST thing in Japan. HUGE. Britney Spears huge, only HUGE-er.

Her second album was a disappointment, BUT...get this...ONE OF HER DANCERS GOT HER PREGNANT (Just like Britney!)...so she took a year and a half off to have the baby.

WHILE this was happening, a young lady by the name of Ayumi Hamasaki came along, and did EVERYTHING Namie did...only BETTER...and essentially stole the crown.

Namie still makes records, and they sell to a much smaller audience.

Ayumi is the queen of Japanese pop...a smart businesswoman, surrounded by people who (so far) have made all the right decisions.

Below: Ayumi Hamasaki.

8. All of her goddamned songs have the same interchangeable beat!
Except for the faster, annoying "Toxic", of course.

Nothing's been WOW to me either, dummy. The Neptunes, Matrix and Linda Perry only have so much juice to supply talentless eye candy (well, not so much Britney anymore now that she's been dirtied and washboarded up by that chain-smoking anchor F*@Ked or whatever the cretin calls himself) such as yourself. Time to start writing REAL music again, not background filler.

11. LOL
I like the pop scene more now than when she was the big thing.. many of these pop/rockers are right up my alley.

I like a few Britney songs (especially from In The Zone,) but she's not one to talk.

12. Wow, look at that face
Has she aged gracelessly in a couple of years! It's got nothing to do with the gym and everything to do with that bovine expression.

At guess at 24 it's still not too late to contemplate a music career.
