For the last month I have found myself crying every Friday night
Over a freaking television show, no less! I don't normally watch much tv, but I recently found the show InJustice and I am hooked. And since I work in the legal profession, I know just how screwed up our system is sometimes and how very likely it is that the estimates of 20% of the people in prison being innocent are probably too low. And InJustice is a fabulous show, well paced, well written and the cast seems to work well together. The only thing is, it makes me cry every week when the wrongly convicted person is released to their families (or sometimes to no one) at the end of the show.

*spoiler alert*

But I think I would have preferred that to tonight's ending. I know that this show is more true to life than most others (except that the people who work at the real life Innocence Project probably aren't quite as movie star good looking as the people on this show). But why did they have to let the state kill an innocent man? I just couldn't stand it. And me- the eternal pessimist- held out hope to the end. *sigh*

I'm sitting here in the apartment that has been my home since Rita and I don't have anyone else to vent to right now since my husband is working out of town. I just had to complain to someone, so thanks for listening. :)

4. Love the windy smiley. To bad he loses his dog, though.

5. Thanks sweetie!
Sorry I spoiled the ending for you, but I think you'll still enjoy it! :)

And I'm not completely alone, since my son is here with me too. But of course he's in bed :boring: and is too young to listen to me complain anyway!

2. I saw the promotions for that show, but I've never seen one.
Doesn't it suck when the good guys lose? x(

3. I've only seen the previews.....
.... there is nothing in this world that pisses me off quite like official malfeasance that results in the innocent being convicted of a crime.

And I'm convinced that it is an everyday occurance in America.

6. It probably is
I do still like our adversarial system better than the inquisitorial system used in mush of the world, but there are times it can really suck. And even worse than that is the people who automatically assume that the police and prosecutors never screwe up. :eyes:

It's a good show, and I hope it's successful if for no other reason than it might work to change a few minds.

7. I've seen the police steal, lie, and fabricate evidence...
Some of them are worse then the crooks.

8. As a HUGE Law and Order fan, I can feel your pain. However,
I think the show that you mentioned is doing a service if it shows that innocent people are executed from time to time. It sort of raises the awareness that this type of thing DOES happen, and it gives some people food for thought when it comes to whether or not they support the death penalty.

9. My company does the captions for that show.
If you ever watch the show with closed captions on, it came from us, although personally I have never worked on it.
