Are down comforters machine washable? |

Simba just barfed all over it (oh, the joys of waking up to this!) It's rather expensive, and we don't want to pitch it. I don't have time to get it to the dry cleaners right now.

technically no. But if you're just going to toss it anyway, might as well give it a shot.
If you do, let us all know how it works out.
As for the barfing...that sucks!

First of all, gentle and cold. :)
Second, when you go to dry it, you have to put it on low (or preferably 'no') heat, and remove it every five minutes.
When you take it out, you have to start pulling apart the clumpy sections. All of them, one by one. You pull apart the clumbs by hand, then plop the thing back in the dryer.
If you're going to let it drip-dry (only in really arid climates), do the same thing only every 20 minutes or so.
Good luck!

Try to spot clean it first if it's not too messy. Then I'd go the dry clean route.
