I haven't made it for a long time. The last two cold/cool spells I went for chili so decided to do something different/

What is your "cold weather" comfort food?

1. Macaroni and cheese
made with cream and sour cream, so I try to avoid it.

2. Actually I would go with that too
A lovely, hot savoury vegetable soup. I like it very watery, with recognisable chunks of veg in it. Like a veg broth, if you will.

With some crusty bread for dunking. :)

3. File gumbo, chili, chicken soup
Mostly soups I guess. You're right, there is something about soup for cold weather.

4. Boulliabaise
But more often it's beef stew. I throw in portabellas, olives, lotsa wine, all color bell peppers. Yum!

I picked up a bunch of organic root vegetables including a burdock root and plan to ge4t started directly. We may or may not have it with brown rice. Mmm, soup.

9. It turned out really good after I corrected for adding too much salt
at the end. A can of diced tomatoes and a can of paste. I'll know for next time to be more careful. As I said, it turned out fine and both Ms. Metta and I really liked it. :hi:
