Had forgotten that I heard Donald Rumsfeld speak in 1964...
He was running for Congress and he and the Democratic candidate (a guy named Lynn A. Williams) came to speak to us.

We gathered at an assembly in the school auditorium and the two gave their spiels... Of course, I was for Williams, even though I didn't live in the district.

Why, you ask, am I now remembering this? Reading through decades-old yearbooks. What a hoot.

Sadly, Dumsfeld won and the rest is history.
