Anyway, it reminded me of my sisters' step son, he's 16 and really into the metal. They have a lot of different sub genres now... Too many to keep track of....

So we download this song and he says it is the best song ever...

And so I have to listen to this excruciatingly boring song... Oh the guy was quick.. Real quick... Up and down the neck faster than a church mouse running from a cat... And yet, there was absolutely no soul, no emotion to this song....

AND IT WENT ON FOR TWELVE FUCKING MINUTES THAT I WILL NEVER HAVE BACK IN MY LIFE AGAIN.....


So he sends me some more music... Oy...

Listen to Maiden's Holy Smoke, 2 Minutes 'till Midnight, Fear of the Dark, Powerslave and The Clansman. Iced Earth's A Question of Heaven, Melancholy (Holy Martyr) and Blind Guardian's album Nightfall on Middle-Earth. That is metal.

Black Sabbath is awesome, but Mastadon is just pure dog shit. Honestly, if I wanted to hear people grunt, I'd watch a porno. It's all sound and fury, no thought and learning, which is what metal was truly about. (excluding glam metal please) Most real metal deals with oppression, literary themes, etc.
