5. No
Just confusing. Some of my most ardent flirts wouldn't want to be the object of my affection.

6. A potential relationship isn't always the impetus for flirting
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 02:33 PM by jpgray
In fact I would say less than half the people I've flirted with I'd seriously consider dating--it's mostly just a fun social game. I'm not gay, but I have both an opinion and a disregard for the OP's reply requirements.

:P

edit: And incidentally, if a good-looking gay dude who knew I was straight flirted with me innocently, I'd hit him right back. All in good fun, after all--or at least it should be.

7. You got it right...
As a straight woman, I flirt with most men, either gay or straight. Funny, though, I don't flirt with any women, and I'm friends with a lot of lesbians. It's not out of fear that they might take me seriously--I just relate to women as sista girls, and bond over social issues with most of 'em. I love my women friends, they prop me up when I'm down, laugh with me in all the right places, and maybe to flirt would feel trivial, I don't know.

But the point is, flirting isn't meant to be taken too seriously, it's just a bit of fun.

8. I never flirt with anybody.....
OK, maybe just a little bit now and then.

For me flirtation is a mixture of some fun, and being genuinely complimentary. Thus I flirt with all and sundry, just because I'm gay doesn't mean that I don't appreciate women - I also flirt with straight men (as long as they don't mind it), whom I'm definitely not trying to get into bed either.

My only criterion for flirtation is that the person concerned deserves some charm and attention.

9. While I'm not gay, I will say that I pretty much flirt with anybody.
I love good-spirited goofiness, and that type of exchange, I don't really limit to any one type of person.

ie: Seriously, who HASN'T flirted with the good cheesy Rev?! She's so good at it, I couldn't possibly miss out on her, even though I don't seriously want to "get with" her.:P

12. I'm not gay, but flirting can be a compliment.
A nice flirty comment can simply mean "I noticed something good about you and hope you feel good about it."

Flirting doesn't have to mean "I want to jump your bones." I think the gay men I know flirt, because they care. :)

16. Why does my straight husband flirt with his friends?
Even though I know he adores me, and there is only room in our bed for the two of us...he'll do it anyway, under the right circumstances...i.e. beer. ;)

I think it is just our nature to stroke the egos of those we care about or genuinely like. :hi:

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

 mrG was working and my son was on his own. I felt slightly horrible as a parent...but then I got over it. :)

Feel better!
